Cancer Research UK - Bowel Cancer
The one-year survival rates for bowel cancer patients in Derby are some of the worst in the country.
That’s why Cancer Research UK, NHS Derby and Corporate Culture teamed up to raise awareness around the signs and symptoms of the disease among those most at risk – men over 50.
At the centre of the campaign was an image of England footballing hero Bobby Moore, who died of the disease at 51.
Our research showed this fact made a big impact on the target audience, and so we applied this to a range of print media.
The campaign also used events at local pubs and clubs to spread the word about early detection.
60% of people asked said the campaign encouraged them to check for symptoms and consult their GP.
