SELCN - A spot of sun

Between 2004 and 2006, around 550 people in South East London got skin cancer.

That’s why, with support from Corporate Culture, the South East London Cancer Network (SELCN) has launched the innovative ‘Spot of Sun’ campaign.

It makes ‘at risk’ groups like sunbed users, young men and males aged 50+ aware of the dangers of sun exposure, and encourages them to cover up and wear sunscreen.

Working from the initial concept, we supplied rigorous testing and consultation with Cancer Research UK and other specialists, a print campaign, website, events and PR elements including an appearance on BBC London Breakfast News.

36% of people those who saw the campaign said they would take action as a result.
