Ashley SweetlandAshley is an experienced project director and leads the company's focus area on children and young people, managing a wide range of projects for public, private and third sector clients. Prior to joining Corporate Culture in 2005, he has worked for The National Youth Agency as a trainer, speaker and consultant and for the Department for Education and Skills where he advised on a major cross Government online communications programme for young people aged 13-19. He was a member of the Russell Commission on youth action and volunteering headed by Ian Russell CBE, former CEO of Scottish Power, and subsequently played a key role in the setup of the youth volunteering charity, v. His support for clients at Corporate Culture includes strategic consultancy; stakeholder engagement; design of corporate responsibility programmes; the development and delivery of social marketing campaigns and the effective management of complex communications programmes. Ashley has a proven track record of delivering successful projects for clients including the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the NHS, the Olympic Delivery Authority, BT, The National Youth Agency, v and Mencap. Ashley is also currently part of an NCVO working group on future leadership in the third sector. Ashley has been actively involved with the UK Youth Parliament for over a decade, and has been a trustee of the charity since September 2003. He was elected Co-Chairman along with Vernon Coaker MP, now Minister of State for Schools, in 2004/05 during a formative period in the organisation's development; and has helped turn the UKYP into a formidable national charity with strong cross-party support. Ashley has a degree in Politics with Law and is a qualified part time youth worker. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. |
